Calamuchita Valley - English tourist version -

Tourist circuits

Via Crucis Hill: On the East of this town you´ll find the path which will take you to Via Crucis hill, and on its top you´ll find the Mayor Cross (La Cruz Mayor). This circuit, besides its religious sense lets you have a wide view of this place, its river with its curves and Embalse de Rio Tercero lake.

The Waterfall: At the entrance of Santa Rosa you´ll walk for about two hours going through a path full of autochthonous vegetation, streams and wild fauna that will take you to the waterfall of about 6m high.

Lake Circuit: When you enter Villa General Belgrano to Los Reartes up to Potrero de Garay you´ll be able to enjoy an amazing view driving along Los Molinos Lake. It's like to touch earth and heaven… just if you go or return the landscape will always be different but unforgettable. The road is in perfect condition.

El Durazno: It lies at a few kilometers from Yacanto. It is also a pleasure to drive along this road. It´s just beside the big hills surrounded by conifers and amazing landscapes. There you will enjoy a complete touch with nature, a clear water river and white sand beaches, hills around and exuberant vegetation.

Champaqui hill: It is the highest hill. It has got 2884m over the sea level. You can arrive there by car through Yacanto up to Los Linderos hill. There you can walk for about 45 minutes up to the top. From there you´ll see Traslasierra Valley spreading in front of your eyes. On the other side you will see Calamuchita Valley, its huge forests and its meadows vanishing in the horizon. Map.

El Parador de la Montaña – Calmayo – Benedictine Monks: Driving through the small hills you´ll go along a lane full of history in the middle of nature. Next to it you´ll find Calmayo, with a mysterious combination of grey and green from the big stone mountains which becomes it into a moon landscape. If you continue walking you will find a mystic place where the monks live. Also you´ll have the possibility to enjoy mass listening his Gregorian hymns.
